About us
TRANSIT is an Erasmus+ Program financed by European Community with the proposal to contribute to one or more program’s policy priorities. It’s a small-scale project in Vocational, Education and Training area composed of 3 countries and 4 partners: Italy (Amigay;
Paradigma), Czech Republic (Transparent) and Slovakia (Saplinq).
Given the knowledge each partner offers to the project, the TRANSIT partnership was developed as a strategic collaboration to respond in an organized manner to the overall objective of the project and to create an innovative, multi-actor training model.
Mission
The mission of the TRANSIT project is to break down barriers and improve access and quality of both health and legal services. It is essential to focus on cultural sensitivity, institutional policy change and professional ethics to ensure genuine inclusion of LGBTQ+ people.
TRANSIT wants to provide a training path for those who help LGBTQ+ people in various ways, such as health-care professionals, judges and lawyers.
TRANSIT specific goals are:

to improve professionals; hard and soft skills related to the LGBTQ+ theme;

decrease secondary victimization, prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination against LGBTQ+ people;

involve all stakeholders;

create units of evaluable and employable learning outcomes.
To reach these goals, TRANSIT will include: a blended training course (face-to-face and online), a formal acknowledgment of the training path that makes it useable in professional curricula, letters of interest from stakeholders and an online archive that will contain the methodological guidelines and training materials.
Vision
Despite recent progress in the understanding of LGBTQ+ people, there are still many educational gaps that contribute to discrimination, especially in the legal and medical fields. This is due to the fact that during their educational path and professional training, they did not acquire the proper skills on the topic and how to interact with LGBTQ+ persons. And that’s why TRANSIT was born! In fact, the name means “Training to Raise Acknowledge NeedS and Inclusion of Transgender”.
